The Blue Ridge Mountains are in northeast Georgia and make up the largest mountain range in Georgia. They are called the Blue Ridge Mountains because the peaks of the mountains seem to be wrapped in a blue haze. The tallest mountain is Brasstown Bald at 4,784 feet. The lowest elevation is 1,600 feet. The range's southern boundary is the Brevard fault, which is where the Piedmont region begins.
