When Georgia became a royal colony it began to prosper. The rules and regulations were lifted so plantation owners could have slaves, which would get a lot more work done and make more money. Women could also inherit land now, you could also sell it for a profit. The government was now a bicameral system, which means it had two houses. Georgia had 3 royal governors as a royal colony. The first one was John Reynolds. He was governor from 1754-1757. He didn't really do anything to help Georgia and no one liked him very much. The second one was Henry Ellis. He was governor from 1757-1760. He started to get Georgia on the right track but he was old and sickly so he resigned after 3 years and people actually liked him. The last one was James Wright. He was governor from 1760-1776. He got Georgia on the right track and kept Henry Ellis's visions alive. People liked him a lot.
