The Paleo Indians occupied Georgia for three subperiods 11000 - 9000 B.C., 9000 - 8500 B.C., and 8500 - 8000 B.C. Each subperiod can be identified by certain spear heads, i.e. arrow heads. The Paleo people were nomadic people and traveled in tribes of 20 to 50 people with their belongings on their back. They were primarily hunters and gatherers, they hunted Mastodon, Caribou, and Mammoth.
